Woken early by one of the kids having a wet bed - suddenly the plans for the day changed to incorporate the Laundromat! The camp completely emptied this morning and only a few caravans were left. Everyone seemed to be out on a day trip so I ran the generator for a few hours and recharged everything electrical while Nick went off into town to do the chores - laundry, gas bottle refill and more water! I also spent the morning doing schoolwork again - I think I'm learning more then they are! After lunch, we went off to Cape Bridgewater. A bush fire was burning just at the entry to the cape and three fire engines were controlling the blaze. There were also two planes water bombing the fire from above and we watched them work while we walked the beach with a coffee and ice creams. We walked to the petrified forest and the blowholes - awesome scenery but the march flies were out in force here too so we decided not to walk the 5km to the seal colony. Back at the van the kids needed some quiet time watching a movie so I went off koala spotting by myself and took forever searching every tree. I'd just about given up when I found one sitting on a low branch hanging over the path. By the time I got back to the van Nick had dinner ready and we ate it around the campfire. We put the kids to bed as it got dark and had a very relaxing night in front of the TV - it works off the 12 volt and there is great TV reception here.
