Got up around 8.30am and most people were up and about (apart from last night's intruders) so we cranked up the generator and made coffee. Nick made everyone breakfast while I very slowly packed up the van. We were eventually on the road by 11am and Koroit was only an hour away. We have decided to stay in Koroit for the next three nights as we want to explore Port Fairy and Warrnambool, but caravan parks in both towns were too expensive and there is no free camping in this shire. Koroit turned out to be a very good choice. It is an old Irish town beside Tower Hill Reserve, a dormant volcano now full of water and very pretty. We had a great drive circling Tower Hill on the way in and found the park no problem. It is quite small but sits beside the botanical gardens and so the grounds are great! It also has free washing machines!!! We could pick our site so once we were properly unpacked we sent the next few hours doing four loads of washing - bedding, towels and clothes. The kids ran off to play in the playground and soon found a great climbing tree in the botanical gardens. I cleaned the van from top to bottom and while doing it noticed the wall shared by the bathroom and kitchen was all damp down at floor level. The seals around the shower tub seemed to have disintegrated - bloody Jayco!! Nick drove into town and bought some sealant and then spent a very frustrating half hour trying to get it to stick. Late afternoon we walked around the town exploring and found a Thai restaurant for dinner. We ordered some take away for collection later on and meandered back to the park. The kids didn't want dinner as such and just had cereal before running off back to play in the tree. We got chatting to most of the neighbours - all very friendly - and then Nick went to collect dinner, which was lovely and made a nice change. Once it was dark we got everyone ready for bed - long showers, a good hair wash, cut nails and clean sheets all round. Such a treat to have power!
