Everyone seems to be on Victorian time at last, waking up around 7am. After coffee and breakfast we packed a picnic and decided to skip school to head off down the Great Ocean Road again and see the bits we flew through when we had the caravan attached. It took us about 2 hours to return to Kennett River even though it is not that far away in km's. The Great Ocean Road is very windy but absolutely stunning and the water looked amazing today with the sun shinning on it. Naturally, as we arrived at Kennett River a great big black cloud came over and it started raining! We pulled into the tiny township and just behind the caravan park a group of tourists were snapping pictures of koalas in the trees lining the main street. We carried on along Grey River Road hoping to do a walk through the bush. We spotted plenty of koalas in the trees while driving along but as we got to the picnic spot the forest was much more dense and we couldn't see any. It was still raining and the paths were very muddy so we ate a banana and got back in the car. We parked back by the caravan park and found plenty of koalas there instead. There were also a large number of parrots around and someone had some birdseed and the parrots were eating out of their hand. They gave some seed to the kids and before long all four of them had birds on their arms, shoulders and heads - the koalas were forgotten!! Eventually, we managed to drag the kids away and got back in the car. We drove to Lorne and parked on the main strip in front of the beach. They have an awesome park there that includes a skateboard park, trampolines and a beachside swimming pool. There was also a 'Sculptures on the Beach' art show on for the month of March. We sat and had a picnic on the lawn and then walked the beach and looked at some of the sculptures (not really our thing, especially when we noticed Matty lying on top of one!!). We headed home and got back around 430pm. The kids ran off to play and Nick and I sat still for a while enjoying the peace! The evening was taken up by dinner, laundry and a little bit of TV!

Juliet Reading through the blog, I can see some themes. Kids sound like they are having a ball and very active from late am to evening! What a great adventure. xx
