Tally woke the kids up early so they all climbed into our bed and kicked me out! I had a quick shower and then began to do some work to earn a bit of money and had done an hour or two before everyone got up for breakfast. We spent the morning doing schoolwork and after lunch went off in the car to Bendigo to have a look around. It took us about an hour to get there but the drive was beautiful and the first place we stopped was Lake Weeroona where the kids had an ice cream and a play and we had a coffee. We had a drive around the city centre and it was very pretty with some stunning buildings. We called into a pet supply shop and picked up some more dog food and the Melbourne Cup was in full swing on the radio - we had forgotten all about it!! Next stop was Woollies and I ran into an ex-school mum in the fruit and veg aisle - it's such a small world!! We drove home, getting back around 5pm and cooked dinner on the BBQ then took the dog for a walk. It was a really warm evening and the kids couldn't get to sleep so we had to put the air con on. It made us re-think our route along the Murray and long for a WA Beach!! The temperature dropped all of a sudden around 9pm as the wind picked up and we ended up feeling cold - it's all four seasons in an hour in Victoria!!
