We all had a great night sleep and woke around 9am. It was overcast and drizzly again but it soon cleared up so we even more washing after breakfast. We sat and had a second cup of coffee while reviewing our route around Australia and by the time we'd finished we'd both forgotten what we had agreed! Needless to say our plans have changed yet again! We spent the day exploring Warrnambool, a great town surrounded by water and has parks and sports facilities everywhere you look. We drove around the outskirts of the town first and then headed down to the mouth of the Hopkins River. The ocean was just starting to come in over the sand bank and you could see hundred of fish waiting to get back to the ocean along the banks of the river. Annie couldn't see the fish initially but a seagull came along and tried to eat one and they all started flipping up in the air - incredible! We drove to the other side of Lady Bay and had a lookout at Thunder Point where the surf was much more wild. We were going to go for a walk along the beach but the kids were hungry so we headed into town to find some lunch. Unfortunately it wasn't a good pick so we have resolved to make pack lunches from now on and save ourselves some money. While we were in the town centre we decided to buy the boys birthday presents and they didn't even notice Nick zip into a sports shop or put a big bag in the car!! We headed back to the breakwater and had a walk along the beach before heading to Woollies to stock up on next week's groceries. We got back to Koroit around 5pm and had about 10 minutes sit down before the rest of the night was swallowed by chores! Nick played soccer with the kids while I cooked dinner and then everyone was scrubbed from head to toe in preparation for another fortnight of free camping. We topped up every water container we possessed, wrapped the boys' presents in newspaper (we're on a budget!!) and repacked the top of the car. It's a shame we have to leave tomorrow as Warrnambool would be a great place to explore over a few days but the shire is booked out for the Port Fairy Folk Festival and all accommodation has gone!!
