Woke feeling very grumpy after a terrible night's sleep. Nick and I spent until 3am worrying about what we would do if our house doesn't rent out soon. We both started looking for potential jobs in Victoria and NSW only to agree that that would have to be a last resort! After a coffee we decided a serious chat to the real estate agent was needed this afternoon. We had breakfast and made up another picnic and then headed into Melbourne for the day. It took us about an hour and a half to get there and we made it to the Botanical Gardens with no issues at all. We found a park and walked up St Kilda Road to the Shrine of Remembrance, then headed to Flinders Street Station where we caught a free city tram that gave us a guided tour of the city. It took about an hour and the tram was packed so Nick and I had to sit separately with two children each. The tour was a great way to see the city but it was a bit much for the kids. We got off at Federation Square, which was great fun to walk through. There was a big screen in the middle and we could watch ourselves walk by on it. Matty and Anna started dancing in the square to watch themselves on the screen and the Japanese tourist thought they were very funny. The Japanese also kept pointing at Jonny's white hair!! We walked back over Princes Bridge and saw the MCG in the distance. If the kids had had the energy we would have walked along the river to it but they had had enough and needed lunch. We picked up the picnic from the car and spent the rest of the afternoon in the Botanical Gardens. The original plan was to then head down to St Kilda but it was getting late so we headed home instead. Dinner was simple as the kids only wanted cereal and then they ran off to play until about 830pm. They were reluctant to come in but after a quick shower got into bed and passed straight out! Nick and I weren't too far behind!!
