Utklippan on the way home. Just 28 NM today should have been less but we had to tack all the way here as the wind was on the nose. So much busier this time with 25 yachts and one motor yacht in harbour. We decided to row over to the lighthouse island before supper, there was some commotion around a lady who had fallen on the rocks, it turned out she was from the Swedish Yacht "Sunshine"who has been traveling the same route as us and we have shared at least 4 harbours together. She had only Broken her arm but was in some pain and needed to go to Hospital. Sweden does not have the same lifeboat organisation as we do but they do have lifeboats, often only small fast ribs but the boat that came out was an improvised ambulance boat, taking over 1 hour to get here from Karlskrona, top speed only 18 kns. We have noted that most sailors wear there life jackets whatever the weather but we noticed the crew of the rescue boat and paramedics did not have any on. Up till April it was harbour Taxi boat. Sweden does have some Air Sea Rescue helicopters but she was not deemed injured enough for a helicopter. Luckily her husband has friends here who can help him sail to Karlskrona in the morning to collect his wife, they were sailing on down as far as Germany and have another 5 weeks of there 6 week summer cruise left. We can't help wondering if they will carry on or return to Stockholm.
