We have arrived now in the capital of Estonia Tallinn. We had 3 choices for moorings the city Marina, noisy and very expensive. A yacht club that might have space, unable to find anyone. Or the old Olympic Marina that was built for the sailing in the 1980 games, we are there. Naissaar is a small island off Tallinn, unfortunately we had to leave the rally to be sure of getting to Helsinki so we can catch the ship to St Petersburg, now we are only 40 miles away so even with the storms that are expected we should still be on schedule. With only 30 miles to sail we left at 07.15 only to find quite a few others were already sailing. We were surprised to find we were the only yacht to take the inshore route, everyone else opting for the ship channels. Arrived here after a 50 nm sail, another bad day for weather F 7 most of the day, luckily from behind so good speed was achieved and the rain held off. There is not much I can say about Kuivastu except that it's a ferry port and has a Marina nothing else. All Estonian marinas so far charge 25 euros. To me this is excessive. We arrived here at Kuressaare the capital of the island of Saaremaa Estonia the day before the start of this years Baltic section,cruising Association rally. We only sailed eight nautical miles to arrive here, since we've been here we have had two lovely sunny days but no warmth to the Sun. On our last day we had an interesting tour of the castle and a great group meal in the local restaurant. Unfortunately the weather has now gone bad with cold winds and rain....
