We are in port waiting!! A gale is coming through tonight, over 40 knots expected so rather than sit in an anchorage hoping that our anchor holds, tied up in a nice safe Marina looked the best option. Been out walking in a lot better weather than expected. It's very interesting to see how the houses are built, because the ground is bedrock the houses are designed around the rocks they sit on, no deep footings needed. Last night a Finish yacht came in about 22.00 with there spinnaker wrapped round the forestay, the girl skipper spent the next hour up the mast unwrapping it, lucky for her the light nights gave her the time. The gale was not at all bad during the night, we slept without noticing it, the wind is strong this morning gusting up to 30 knots, not sure if we will move on today everybody else is still in port waiting.
Wed 8th
Still here, yesterday turned our very windy but nice sunshine, nobody moved, this morning brought light winds and rain, lots of yachts left. We have decided to move on down to an island anchorage about 15/20 miles south but not to leave till this afternoon when the rain should be only light.
