Wednesday 2 March
We get up early and are ready to leave about 8am. It's a peaceful trip to Arusha. We first stop at a big department store and get a few things. Next to the fabric market. We find some that we like. Getting the plain fabric for the quilt backs is more complicated as we walk to the store then realise we need more money, so walk back to exchange some, then to the store and back. It's a bit quicker at the post office as we know where to go and what to do! We see a man on the street corner and he has the right batteries for the remotes so we get some. He doesn't have enough so he calls someone to bring some more. It takes time so we prepare to go and get in the car. He rushes over with the new bits so we end up with enough in the end. We stop at the market and Hannah leaves us to browse. It's not a peaceful shopping experience. Everyone wanting your time and money. It's wearying. By the time we are done I'm exhausted. On the way to lunch we stop and look at some furniture places, but find nothing we need for good prices. We stop and collect Lori's phone from repair finally. We stop and have a very nice lunch of burger, chips and sushi. It's very good. We look around the stores and then head to the cultural centre. It's a unique building with beautiful art and sculptures. It seems pretty deserted for such a nice place. We stop at sable square for the pharmacy and supermarket and head home. What a long day. We relax, eat a light dinner and make some slice. Bed is welcome.
