Wednesday 17 February

After breakfast Malcolm takes me, Milan, and her mother violet to the school. I oversee porridge preparation while violet settles Milan into school. She has been quite unsettled this week. Once back we can't get in the door so assume it's locked and wait outside. Hannah messages us to meet her at the daycare. We find the door unlocked and get ready to leave. We are now pressed for time. Malcolm has an appointment with the dentist for a check. First stop to collect the pads. We discover they actually haven't arrived and the ones they have are wrong. Frustrating. We continue into town and Malcolm looks for binoculars and other things while we go to the post office. I go buy paper and a pen while Hannah waits in line. After waiting in many lines we eventually get to the right ones and get the package checked and wrapped up. Malcolm comes and goes to exchange money for us. Then back to the jeep and off to the dentist. Malcolm has to wait to get in, but only needed to be seen for a few minutes. A tick of approval, it was just an extra bit that fell out. We go back and get a mousetrap and some ice cream for our trip back. We get stopped by a police man, but he is very nice and once checking our stickers we are let go. We are a little late to drop and collect the kids, but we do ok. The rest of the afternoon passes in a blur. At twilight we go to the day care to set up the new tables and organise the toys. Then we eat dinner and a movie.
