Thursday 14 January
It's not a good night. It's hard to get up. But it's lori's last day here. We have our smoothies for breakfast. Malcolm drops the kids at school. After Lori leaves we have to go help make lunches for the school. It ends up being a bit of mission going backwards and forwards getting things. We drop them at the school and the children are very keen to meet us. We stop at the market for a few things and go to the post office and ATM. After we return it's about 1 hour before lunch so we rest. It's rice and greens for lunch. Hannah has a few things to sort out with the manager of the day care. I type up the menu for the day care then have a nap. I help sort out paper work and Malcolm sorts out some dinner. It's yummy bread with bean spread. We discuss more programmes and then reject before bed. There is a small lizard climbing the walls. He catches the cats attention, but they can't reach him.
Funny things about Tanzania:
-the crazy ways the cats play and fight each other.
-the long hot, dusty, days and cool evenings
-the way the local ppl bundle up even though it's so hot.
- the way the animals wander
- the annoyances at being white - overcharge alert!
- the way nothing normal is simple.
