Day 29 - Tue 17 April - 12 Mile Delta
There was quite a bit of rain in the night with a gusty wind which made the vans move about a bit. However we are on hard standing here so no danger of getting bogged. This morning Ros finished a scarf to match Bernard's little hat (Bernard is the other van's mascot). After lunch the weather cleared so we went for a drive to check out the Festival Parking site. We stopped at the Shotover Jet and found this beautiful pounamu at the office/cafe. We then went up Coronet Peak for a looksee. However the café and restaurant was closed for a private function. As we came down we met 8 busloads heading up so maybe they were the guests. There were some amazing views from along the road. The weather closed in again after we got back to the campsite. Looks like a dusting of new snow above Walter Peak Station.
