Day 49 - Mon 07 May - Tapanui to Tuapeka Mouth
Navgirl took us on a safari to Tuapeka Mouth. We started out on a sealed road which turned into gravel for about 30 kms.. Not the easiest road to tow a caravan! We travelled through the foothills and forestry areas of the Blue Mountains before coming out near the Clutha River. Our stopover for the night was at the Tuapeka Heritage Hub which used to be the Presbyterian Church . The community have set it up as a community centre and we can park here for a small charge. After we had set up camp we went for a tiki tour of the old township site. It was extremely windy down at the ferry landing so it wasn't working that afternoon - we'll try again tomorrow. The old church had table tennis and a pool table set up - Bruce's forte was pool and Ros' was table tennis…. That was our exercise for the day.
