Day 28 - Mon 16 April - Arrow Junction to 12 Mile Delta
It rained overnight but cleared for a trip into Frankton for petrol and groceries before we hook up and head through Queenstown to 12 Mile Delta. After lunch we packed up ready to move on. The rain had made the ground soft and Wilkie's SUV spun its wheels in the mud. After much to and froing he had to use his motor movers to get the caravan on to hard ground. Whew - it was pretty stressful! Fortunately we had no problem with our caravan - thank goodness. Finding the dump station was an interesting exercise towing the caravans through the narrow back streets of Queenstown up to near the Gondola. What an inconvenient spot for a dump station! We followed Navgirl's instructions to get back on the road out to 12 Mile Delta. Wow - we ended up going down the steepest street in Queenstown (in convoy)! The tourists at the bottom of the hill watched in amazement as we came down to a stop sign and had to turn sharp right! The rest of the journey out to the DOC campsite was a piece of cake.
