Day 17 - Thurs 5 April - Oxford to Geraldine
It was time to head south after morning tea with the other two. They are staying another night. We stopped for lunch beside the Waimakiriri River and not long afterwards arrived at Geraldine. We are staying at Peski CAP just outside Geraldine. What a great spot! Owen and Jeanette from Ngatea are staying here too - small world. We joined a group of ex motorbike enthusiasts for Happy Hour. They are from Wellington and on their way north.
Day 18 - Fri 6 April - Geraldine
Today we caught up with our laundry and explored the village. Of course we had a tasting at Barkers and came away with some goodies (chutney, mint jelly and jams), got some wool, tasted some cheeses and enjoyed an iccream (for him) and a sorbet (for her). Delicious. It was fresh fish for tea and meat from the local butcher for the next coulpe of days. A cold wind came up so too cold for Happy Hour outside today. We had heard good reports of Peskis and it certainly lived up to those.
