Thyme Travellers On the Road
Sun 25 March - New Plymouth
The rain had gone by morning so we took the opportunity to get the "Gentle Annie" going and catch up with the washing. There was a bench and tub with unlimited water for washing and rinsing which was a bonus.
Just after 11am we drove around the mountain (which is hiding under cloud) to Hawera to visit Tawhiti Museum ($30.00 for entry to all areas of the site). Nigel Ogle had just started setting this up when we lived in South Taranaki (30 years or so ago) so we were looking forward to seeing what he had to offer now. Wow - what an incredible experience! This is a not to be missed opportunity. Well done Nigel and team - all done before Weta workshop made NZ famous!

Angela Interesting about the museum. We have been to Hawera about 17 years ago to a wedding. Probably a lot of changes now.
