Day 71 - Tue 29 May - Weedons

Not much rain overnight but it was overcast and not very warm - 5'C at 9am this morning. This afternoon we drove out to Lyttleton to visit one of Ros' cousin. Now getting there with no GPS was a bit of an adventure but we made it eventually! The houses in Lyttleton are perched on the sides of the steep hills surrounding the harbour and have narrow streets for access. Just as well we were just with the car and not towing the 'van! We could even see a dusting of snow on the Port Hills from their house. We did enjoy our visit and having a chat about our common family history.

Day 72 - Wed 30 May - Weedons

Yahoo - some sunshine this morning to help charge up our solar panels and get the washing dry! There wasa a laundry at Hornby so not too far away. You had to buy a $3.00 key here though which hasn't happened before. After lunch we bought a new GPS to replace the 'dead' one so will have that to help find our friends' house tomorrow. There are a lot of change with all the roadworks around Christchurch making it difficult to find your way about. It's still cold even though the sun has been out.
