Anna got scared in the middle of the night and climbed into bed with us around 430am. It was much colder last night and I think the cold woke her up. None of us wanted to get up in the morning as it hurt to stand on the lino floor! Nick got a fire going and we all sat around it until it was late enough to start the generator for a coffee. The kids collected firewood after breakfast and then we spent the morning doing schoolwork. It didn't go well today, especially for the boys, so we had to break for lunch and continue into the afternoon - it was like pulling teeth! We walked to the main street and extended our stay for another three nights at the council then stocked up on groceries. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking the track that skirts the town. It took about an hour and the kids complained a little bit but it was good exercise for Nick and me! We lit the fire early and had dinner sitting around it watching the sun set, then it was early beds for everyone. Hopefully it will make a difference with school tomorrow!!
