We all had a lie in as it was a Sunday (any excuse) and then spent our time over breakfast before getting into schoolwork. While I helped the kids with their reading Nick prepared dinner (chicken Snitzel!) and then while he helped them with their maths I made a sticky date pudding, cooked to perfection in the new oven!! We had lunch and then drove to Davies Creek National Park, walking to the waterfalls and sitting by the swimming pool when we got there. It as a hot day so we treated ourselves to another ice cream from the Emerald Creek Ice Creamery and then drove off in search of a tree kangaroo. We'd heard a good place to spot them was at the Nerada Tea Centre, which was on the other side of Malanda. It took us a fair while to get there and the visitors' centre had just closed for the day when we arrived. There was also no sign of the elusive tree kangaroo!! Still, it was a very pretty drive through the rolling hills and the kids were thrilled when we got stuck behind a herd of cows going home to be milked!! It was after five by the time we got back to the van so we had a quick coffee and then Nick began dinner, which was a huge success. Everyone was allowed a bit of a late night as we have a day planned around the camp tomorrow doing a few chores - thrilling stuff!!
