Everyone was awake quite early and it was lovely to sit outside and read in the sunshine until it was late enough to start the generator for a coffee. After breakfast, I spent an hour or so doing schoolwork with the kids while Nick filled up our water tanks then we all set off to Burleigh Waters to meet up with the Clynks. We spent a couple of hours at the house having a coffee while the kids ran amok and then we drove into Miami and had lunch at an awesome bakery. We took the kids to the beach for a walk to expend some energy and although it was quite cold and overcast for Queensland the kids had a ball. On the way back to the Clynks we did a bit of sightseeing driving up to Burleigh Heads to see the views of Surfers Paradise. Once back at the house Liz and I cracked the white wine and I sat in the most enormous and comfy couch watching the sun set over the canal (oh how I've missed a comfy couch!!) While Liz and I chatted, the males went down to Greg and Liz's jetty to whack golf balls into the canal but later ended up at the next-door neighbours playing pinball machines!! We had a lovely Thai take away for dinner and eventually headed home around 930 pm. Annie and Katharine fell asleep in the car and the boys past out as soon as they climbed in to bed. After all the white wine I'd consumed I wasn't far behind and had no idea that Nick sat up and watched the footie!!
