We all had a lovely sleep in until 830am - it must be the peace and quiet here! Another beautiful day with blue skies so I decided to scoot straight into town and join the queue for the launderette. There are only three washing machines in town and the town had a power cut yesterday so spent most of the day closed. One lady here has been waiting three days for a free machine so I was expecting to join a queue of thousands especially as the place is only open until midday. Instead I jagged the last free machine and a second became available within a few minutes so I got both our loads done. After that the queue started and within minutes was five people deep!! By the time I got home Nick had started schoolwork and had got my breakfast ready. We worked until lunchtime and then had an hour or two relaxing with a book. The washing dried quickly as it hit 26 degrees today so once we'd put it all away we drove into town and had a play at the park. There are hot showers available at the park so Annie and I washed our hair and then it took the rest of the afternoon trying to brush Anna's matted bits out!! She was so patient that I paid her a dollar at the end of it to make the trauma worthwhile! We went for a drive in the car to recharge the battery and found the second free camp run by the council. It's about 14 kms from the town and runs along the edge of the river. There were quite a few vans there but nothing compared to our camp area. On the way home we found the skate park, swimming pool and tennis courts. The kids wanted a skate so Nick dropped me off at the van and went back with the kids. I talked to mum and dad via facetime and had almost perfect reception although the kookaburras interrupted a bit! Nick lit a fire once he got back and we had dinner sitting around it. We had planned on a fairly early bed when one of the neighbours stopped by for a chat and before we knew it an hour and a half had disappeared!
