We all had a fantastic night's sleep as it is very quiet here but it got really cold in the middle of the night and we must be in a dip as there was mist across the oval. Katharine woke up at 5 am needing the toilet and when we walked across the oval to the ablution block it felt like we were walking through a cloud - very eerie and we were both damp by the time we got back into bed. I slept on until 830 am as I was in no hurry to get up seeing, as I couldn't have a coffee until 9 am!! Once up, we all had a quick breakfast and then set off for SeaWorld on the Gold Coast. It only took us 45 minutes to get there and the car park was half empty when we arrived. It still took us 20 minutes to queue for tickets though and cost us $500 for the day!!! First stop was the dolphin show right at the other end of the park and it was fantastic - my favourite of the day. We also saw a sea lion show, which was the kids favourite and a Jet Ski show, which we watched right at the end of the day just as we were leaving and the park was closing. Katharine and the boys wanted to do the roll-a-coaster ride but each of them needed their own adult so before we even contemplated it we went on a Viking boat ride that was suitable for Anna. Nick took the boys in the first boat and I took the girls. The ride only lasted 5 minutes but it climbed up a moderate incline next to the slide that took you back down. As soon as Anna saw the boats heading down she started screaming and was inconsolable. Katharine then got upset because of Anna's reaction and from that point onward no one wanted to do any more rides - lucky mum and dad!!! The food was great at the park and there were plenty of treats and souvenirs to tempt the kids. They all spent the last of their birthday and Christmas money and broke our piggy bank too - I'm glad we decided not to do the other parks!! We were given some scratch cards to win a weekend away for two - choice of hotel in any city in Australia plus flights at a cost of $49. We were given 4 cards in total and Nick won much to the girl's delight who gave us the card as she scored $100 for giving us the winning card. The down side was we had to sit through a property sales pitch at the weekend so we passed on the prize!! Jonny also scored some extra treats from the fast food counter for being so polite!! The waitress gave him a polar bear toy and some stickers for having such nice manners! We left the park as it closed and called in to McDonalds on the way home for the kids' dinner. Nick and I had soup around the campfire once we were home. Everyone had a very short shower before jumping gratefully in to bed, as we were all exhausted - what a great day!
