We were woken early due to rain but by the time we eventually got out of bed the sky had cleared and we were able to pack up without getting soaked. The drive to Brisbane only took a couple of hours and was fairly uneventful considering we were back in a major city. We were staying at the Lawnton Showground's, just north of the city and only $30 a night with power and water. We set up camp and the plan was to head into the city and explore but as we unpacked the beds we noticed the copper gas piping connecting the gas bottles to the van had sheared off one of the bottles. Nick called a plumber and a lovely guy came out to fix it for us but we had to spend the afternoon around the camp waiting for him. The kids played soccer on the oval while we waited, happy to expend some energy and Nick and I sat and enjoyed the sunshine with a good book so the wait wasn't too hard!! Once the van was all fixed with much better flexible hosing we drove to a shopping centre just around the corner that we'd noticed on our way through and killed an hour or two wandering around the shops before heading home for dinner. The kids spent the evening playing Lego but once they'd been put to bed they messed around for hours and it was nearly ten before the boys fell asleep!!
