Happy Father's Day and Happy Birthday Grandma! The kids woke us up before 7 am wanting to give Nick the cards they had made. They also wanted Nick to make them pancakes for breakfast so while he had a busy Father's Day morning I sat back and relaxed with a coffee and a good book!! Once breakfast was finished and everyone was dressed, we phoned Grandma for her birthday and we all had a long chat. As the weather was forecast showers we decided to skip the beach and spend the day on the Noosa River instead. We drove to the Noosa Marina and parked the car then bought an all day family pass for the ferry, which lets you hop on and off all day at the 7 different stops along the river. The markets were on at the marina when we arrived and a ferry had just left so we had 20 minutes to look around while we waited for the next one, which was great as some of the stalls and shops were fantastic. We decided to take the ferry all the way to Noosa Heads, which took about half an hour. The captain gave us a great commentary as we travelled along and let Matty, Jonny and Anna blow the whistle as we arrived at the first stop so they were thrilled. Once at Noosa Heads we went to the food court for lunch and everyone picked something from a different shop but at least it all got eaten!! We walked down the main street to the Noosa Spit and tried to see the entrance to the Noosa River but it started raining quite heavily and so we turned back before we got soaked. We meandered along the main street back towards the ferry and checked out all the shops along the way before heading home. On the ferry ride home we sat outside and luckily didn't get wet. The kids were fascinated with all the large blue jellyfish in the water and so the trip passed quite quickly. By the time we got home everyone was exhausted although the kids still shot out to play with their friends. I did a few loads of washing while Nick made dinner and then everyone had to stay home for the rest of the evening as the rain set in. The kids were happy to play Lego until bedtime and they all fell asleep very quickly, leaving Nick and I to veg out in front of the TV like zombies!!
