Going to be difficult to concentrate on this blog as we are in a noisy bar watching the Spain v Chile match. But trying hard here with the multi tasking. We left our shed early with the day still overcast. We had diverted about a kilometre from the Camino to stay overlooking the lake so finally saw the restored town of Portomarin in the morning and it was worth seeing. The restored buildings looked just right. But huge numbers setting off in the morning and we stop to let some of the bigger groups of young people go by. Not only can they walk faster but they have a lot more to talk about and the chatter can be v loud. It's noticeable that les people stop to look at the churches and monuments on the way but they don't have the grandeur of the churches in the richer towns . We went through small hamlets again and sure enough the sun appeared . The sideways pic is of me showing that I am carrying my rucksack through the heat. Ops, Chile just scored the first goal . But the sad news is that I have got a cold. Nose dripping like a tap and Roger said I snored last night which I can't quite believe. Tonight we are staying in the Spanish equivalent of Centre Parcs but we do have a proper cabin...not a shed and the bed looks a hell of a lot more comfortable. Roger scoffed when I booked it but we are modern day pilgrims and I need a good night's sleep.as we have another 15 miles to do tomorrow. The weather is due to change tomorrow so i will take a pic of over sat skies. Anyway, come on Spain ...can't bear it if my second favourite term go out of the World Cup. .

Chloe Hello my name is Chloe and I am new to this app and just stumbled upon your blog :) I see you and your partner are doing the Santiago de Compostella pilgrimage! That's so exciting as that is something I am aiming to do along my travels through Europe. I arrived in London yesterday morning! How are you finding it? I would love to know! It looks like you are nearly there! I'm thinking of starting at the south of France...where did you start? Hope to speak soon - maybe email me if you can't reply :) [email protected]
Mark Malbas Hi Isobel & Roger, glad you've stayed on the walk longer than Spain managed to stay in the World Cup. I'm enjoying the sideways photography, there must be a specialist twitter/flickr site for that where I'm sure your entries would go down a storm. Back here, the National Grid World Cup campaign is going well - we've been mentioned on Good Morning Britain today, as well as Sky News, 5 Live, TalkSport & more in recent weeks. My biggest success however has been getting an article on Meat Trade News - they clearly thought the story was a tasty prime cut. Sorry......
