We saw our first Galician mist this morning and after what seems like weeks of sunshine. So it was a surprise to wake up to cooler weather. We shared breakfast with a South African woman who had given up her job as a specialist nurse after a taste of the Camino and was back to walk some more and is going to act as a volunteer helper in Santiago when she finishes the walk. The experience does really change some people's lives and gets them to rethink their futures. It's not the only story like that we have heard. A beautiful day's walking yet again and the pic is of Roger by the 100 kms to Santiago marker post. Very much busier on the paths and more groups of people walking together., but still possible to be alone for long stretches . We walked to Portomarin which was a old town flooded in the 1960's to make way for a dam and lake, but they saved all the historic buildings and rebuilt them stone by stone. We are staying about half a mile off the Camino is a beautiful spot looking over the lake. We are in a wooden cabin - or isn't this a shed said the architect - and it was very quiet when we arrived in the afternoon. However it seems to be a haven for German campers who are cycling the Camino, but we are of course all peace and love. Hope it's not sausage for dinner. Even Roger has agreed to an early start tomorrow as it looks like the last day of the heat wave and we have a long way to go. We hope to be in Santiago on Saturday so only a few more days on the road. Sob.

Jan Thanks for the offer in your blog a couple of days ago to change our mind re the final bit of the trail -- hmm let me think about that - guess what its a no!! We had a hilarious afternoon yesterday when we went on a segway afternoon - those hideously scary two wheel things that you stand on a lean forward or backwards depending on whether you want to go forward or backwards - after a very faltering start from me when I kept bending my knees at inopportune moments or leaning the wrong way which meant you would tear down a hill backwards we had a great time!! Can't wait to see you both and hear all the stories
