The photo shows the view as we walked in Castrjeriz today.....old monastery, ruined castle and a field of poppies. So good humour restored after a great day walking and back to big blue skies. The landscape was really big again with lots of limestone outcrops and the windflowers altered with the first wild lavender and lots of small alpine plants which I don't know. We met some interesting people in the walk today including a Dutch guy who began by singing us his Camino song - bad moment - but then told us heart rending story about losing much loved daughter in an air crash and is still hoping to find a message they posted together in a bottle. Which made me think of my children and how lucky I am that they have survived misfortunes and ended up being the lovely people they are. I'm very proud of them and probably don't tell them that enough. And I know they don't mind me spending their inheritance on trips like this. Quite a few people on the Camino are beginning their later life adventures and lots of stories about other great walks to be done in the future. Martin I've fallen behind with disco tracks so could you ask the girls for their two favourite Beyoncé dance tracks and also Rolling Stones Jumping Jack Flash and Micael Jackson Billie Jean.
