Look at that sky. The only comfort is that it has been a rest day and it was taken from the roof of the Parador where we are staying which is fab. The weather forecast is really terrible for the next few days. Today it's been about 12 degrees and very wet, so I really don't want to hear about how nice it is in England at the moment. There is perfect weather for walking which is slightly warm and sunny and we don't seem to have had any of that. We've been sight seeing in Pontevedra which is another town on a huge river and we are close to the sea. So much of the history here is to do with the Romans and pilgrims and it's a wonderful thought abou the millions of people who have walked along these streets on their way to Santiago over thousands of years. Our motives are certainly not religious and there are easier ways to keep fit but we both enjoy the time to reflect and meet the interesting people on the road. And then there is the thrill of looking at a map of the world and seeing how far we've come by foot. Roger continues to berate the cyclists, mainly Italians, who rush up behind the walkers. I'm glad they can't hear his reply when they're cheerfully wish us "Buen Camino". So time for a good dinner in the restuarant here. We're back to Spanish wines and the wonderful local Albarhino and our favourite Ribera del .Duero. Perhaps some of both tonight ?
