Is the photo upside down? It's supposed to be of Roger overlooking St Jean Pied do Port - the start of the walk on the French side of the Pyranees. We've not done a lot of walking today apart from round the town. We arrived here late afternoon having shared a taxi from BIaritz with 4 young people from Denmark, USA, SLovenia and Norway. It was just like the Eurovision Song Contest but with less facial hair. They are staying in the pilgrim hostels tonight but we are spending a few EUros on a last night of comfort. THe big decision is whether tomorrow to go over the top of the mountain which is 27 v hard kilometres or take the valley route which is only 22 kms but I'll leave you in suspense about that. The weather forecast is hot and sunny.....unlike the snow I had been told could occur in May. So we're off to try and fins the local speciality to eat. Baby trout cooked in butter and possibly a glass or two of wine. I'll hope to post something most days when I can find wifey as they call it here. I'll be glad to be in Spain tomorrow. Wish us luck x
