We woke after a quiet night at anchor to a lovely sunny morning, we had just 14 NM to cover today through the sheltered archipelago of islands to the city of Västervik a wonderful town with lots to see. Home to Björn of Abba fame ( I'm sure I saw him walking down the high street) we set off in shorts after about 5 miles I went below to change into wet weather clothes as a large cloud system was coming our way, then we were hit by a 3 hour storm just into a gale 8 with 35 knots of wind, the temperature dropped and we had a very uncomfortable trip. No sooner had we arrived the wind died and the sun came out. The town has been here since 1433 and is full of interesting buildings, we came across some tiny cottages that belonged to seafarers in the 1700 s.
