Day 83 - Sun 10 Jun - Picton to Wellington

Whoa! I forgot how much traffic goes past here - hardly got any sleep last night! We had a quiet morning then after lunch we headed down to Bluebridge Check-In. We were almost the first vehicle on board so had a great choice of seating. We had to wait for Interislander to leave port first - yesterday Bluebridge was in front…It was a calm crossing and we arrived in Wellington to a vista of city lights. Again we were almost the first off the boat and on the road towards Upper Hutt. It took a while to get to our destination as Navgirl took us on a very scenic roundabout route. We were thankful to be here safely. We are parked behind the Stokes Valley Cosmopolitan Club - on our own again.

Day 84 - Mon 11 Jun - Wellington

A quiet spot we thought - not! The rubbish trucks arrived in the early hours to empty the bin of bottles! What a racket! In the morning we went off to find a Postshop - Ros had a couple of cards to send off. After lunch we drove up to Silverstream to visit A Kay. It was lovely to spend some time visiting her. At 92 she is still in her own home and driving herself and her friends - but "just in Upper Hutt" she told us. Well done A Kay!
