Pamplona to Puenta la Reina My moods were a bit jumbled up this morning on the 8 mile walk uphill, out of Pamplona city and through undulating countryside. I got into 'the zone' and walked by myself for a while listening to the soundtrack of the film, 'The Way' and this soon restored my equilibrium. People walking the Camino all have their own reasons and motivations but today was amazing. There is a wedding party of eight Australians who are celebrating by walking all the way to Santiago. The couple were married at Ronscesvalles on Saturday and the bride and groom are joined by both sets of parents and two other relatives. But here's the amazing bit- they are pushing their small baby in a buggy all the way!!! At the summit of Alto del Perdon, we stopped at the iconic iron monument of the pilgrims on the Camino and the parorama was spectacular, including a wide range of wind turbines on the hilltops. The downhill section was rocky and fun to navigate and then the subsequent walking through fields and small villages was a lovely way to complete today's walk. Stopover tonight is at Punte la Reina in one of the original pilgrims hostels - at €5 for the night, I am not expecting too much!
