Vigo A brisk walk took us to the high point of Vigo. The Castro complex at the top of the hill overlooking the Ria de Vigo. The views are great and you can imagine the great sea battles of yesteryear with canon balls being shot at the galleons below. There is also the remains of where people lived 2,000 years ago and three reconstructed houses to give you a sense of things. In some ways, they reminded me of the places I had seen in the mountains of Nepal only...

A Guarda On the way to the bus station, the heavens opened and Galician rain fell. When it rains in Galicia, it really rains! I was wearing a rain jacket but my legs were soon saturated. At the bus station, there was a little shop selling trousers and jeans for €5 and so I quickly tried on a pair and bought them as a spare in case I get caught out for a third time in Vigo. Vigo We caught the train down to Vigo on the coast this morning. It's a big city on the mouth of the Ria de Vigo and to cut a long story short, it has belted down with rain all day. We dodged the rain by going into bars for red wine and the free tapas each place provides. It's a destination for the most enormous cruise ships and one was docked in the harbour. You can tell the Brits by their clothing - hopelessly attired for torrential rain in T shirts, shorts ...
