India and Nepal 2022
Rabadiso to O'Pedrouzo Tomorrow I will walk into Santiago de Compostela. I will have taken over one million steps and after five and a half weeks on this journey, I will reach the end of my 'pilgrimage'. At this point, I want to give special thanks to my lovely physiotherapist Caroline back in my local Colchester hospital. When I saw her in the summer with my dodgy right ankle, she gave me a series of exercises to do and provided special insoles to support my arches. She also gave me the confidence to know that I could walk through the pain and out the other side when my ankle was hurting. Tonight I also finally let go of my original boots which through many duck tape surgery operations, have got me this far. I have also decided that after a rest day in Santiago, I want to carry on walking for four more days to reach the Atlantic Coast, which for me represents the real journey's end. The walk today was largely uneventful through forests of eucalyptus plantations, along roads and tracks. Good conversations with my Camino group including insights into Buddhist teachings from Stuart, the English monk. Tomorrow will be the big day...........

Eddy McD Hi Richard, belatedly catching up on your fabulous adventure - gorged myself on all the volumes in one go. I am envious, yet delighted. Envious that I cannot walk such a fantastic route at this moment in time due to all the usual restraints, but delighting in your wonderful descriptions and pictures. I am living your route, but without the blisters! I'm new to the Camino and Spain, so thank you for opening up a new book of knowledge to me. Keep walking to the end. I know you will, as you are a finisher as well as a starter. And another of your immense talents is reflecting on your experiences and sharing it with people for their benefit. Looking forward to hearing about it in person, unless you keep on walking, 'Harold Fry'.
Lynne Following my three month trek through Asia I pinned my walking sandals to the wall. I doubt that you could do the same with your boots, it looks like you have hammered them Rich! Will be with you in spirit tomorrow.....
Marjorie Well done I know how you feel with with this enjoyable achievement. Much love.
Marjorie How blissful the countryside looks
