Porrino to Redondela
This has been a relaxing gentle day walking in the Galician hills and valleys. There is a strong Camino culture now with churches, signs and local people incorporating the symbols on their properties.
After so much walking on roads, it's great to be strolling through forests and climbing up a few hills! Also for the first time, I was able to relax into listening to birdsong and noticing butterflies and the beautiful leaves of autumn.
At Redondela there was no room at the inn so we pushed on to a small settlement an hour away where we found a small hotel. We were the only customers but had a lovely view of the bay and the bridge over the Ria de Vigo.
The restaurant up the road served a pilgrims menu and I chose sepia o choco and then looked it up online to see what I had ordered. It's a squid like creature with tentacles and a shell - delicious.
