Pontedeume to Betanzos
After yesterday's glorious weather, the skies were dark and rain was in the air. A steep climb up out of Pontedeume led me to the summit where I met Brenda and Colin, Jackie and Denis, English expats living in Spain.
As the rains came down heavier I met Claudia and Georg from Germany who I walked and talked with for a while. At lunchtime in Mino, I had reconnected with the English group and had a enjoyable lunch.
The scenery today is really good, typical Galician hills and valleys. I walked by myself along the estuary and wooded tracks and got into a very enjoyable Camino rhythm.
The town of Betanzos had a large plaza and a great modern albergue for only 6€ a night, even though I had to sleep on the bed in my spare clothes as I hadn't brought a sleeping bag!
After a a fun evening with my Aussie friends, I returned to the albergue for a great Camino conversation with Georg and Claudia.
