Day 264, 25 March 2013, Whistler, B.C. There must be a law that if one is going to take a tumble on a mountain, even after no tumbles in 5 days of skiing last week, there will be witnesses. Oh how I hate witnesses. Had a lovely morning getting warmed up after 2 days rest then we joined a mountain tour and struck out into new territory. Absolutely a one skier accident, obviously my fault. One minute I was having too much fun, the next I was having a yard sale (that's skier talk for when you and your skis and poles get momentarily divorced, real quick like and you and your belongings are spread over the mountain side. Just like a yard sale.) In any event, everything still worked and there were no bends where there shouldn't be - but one of my skis smacked my hand with a fair bit of force and skiing down wasn't an option. On a positive note it meant a snow mobile ride up the hill! Had a little rest at home in the afternoon with Doctor James tending to my every need. Had to be the right hand didn't it. Went to movie night with our good friends in Whistler and had seafood chowder, excellent white wine and watched the Life of Pi on their big screen. I don't know that we're quite evolved enough for that movie... but the chocolate brownies for dessert were excellent medicine. Skiing tomorrow? maybe, maybe not. Doctor James skiing tomorrow - you betcha. Look out for reports of his day on the slopes without his wingman (that's 'smee!) Photo is from the top of Whistler Peak - breath taking. And obviously before the yard sale.
