Day 256, 17 March 2013, Whistler, B.C. Wow. It's big. Way bigger than we imagined. We eventually left the condo and ventured out into brilliant sunshine - kicking through fresh snow like kids. Jumped on the free bus into town and then did a loop of the village. Made our way to the base of the two Gondolas and picked up our season passes... the gods were smiling and we both have great photos... what a way to start the day! OK, well it was about 2 pm when we actually accomplished that - but what a gorgeous day to be out and about. We explored, we picked up maps, we quizzed the guest relations team and found out about the free mountain tours (on the list for tomorrow). We looked in shops, picked up a few more groceries, went to the Olympic Plaza (look out for a photo of moi sitting at the Olympic rings. It's compulsory). One of the best info sources we found today is hilarious... to the FAQ "Which mountain is Whistler?" the simple answer is "The one on the right." And so it is. Feeling much happier about the general lay of the land. Have got the bus system covered. Enough food to not need to eat out for the entire month and our season passes are ready to go. There's no stopping us now! Reports on first day's skiing? Tune in tomorrow. We're off to sleep off the mushroom risotto with honey soy chicken drumsticks that we had for dinner....
