Day 258, 19 March 2013. Whistler, B.C. Managed to get to the gondola 15 minutes earlier than yesterday! But that was the least of our achievements - a good solid hour and half before lunch (including the Cougar run moguls pictured... seemed like a good idea until we turned the corner...) then caught up with some friends in the Roundhouse Lodge for lunch. The only reason I mention the name of the lodge is given that every second person you meet is Australian... chances are some of the readership's already been here. Our friends are good skiers. Excellent skiers. And phenomenally, incredibly, FAST skiers. It was brilliant beyond all imagining to head off after lunch and explore runs and lifts we never would have gone to on purpose today... and I quote... "Hey Art... Did you know that run was a black diamond? Nope... how 'bout you?" But it was incredible and such a fabulous day with perfectly groomed snow that nothing felt hard at all. Given it was only Day 2 of Whistler, we gave it and ourselves a caning and I at least was squealing on the inside by the time we skied to the bus stop. Clicked out and hopped on thanks to the groovy bus driver waiting for us for a minute. And then we went home for a cat nap. But it was so big it was more like a mountain lion nap in the end. Movement will be an interesting proposition tomorrow - We've never skied that fast in our lives!
