The kids woke up before 7am again and for the first time in a long time I was missing our massive private comfortable dry bedroom with its huge king size double bed! Annie dragged me out into the rain for the toilet and the day had begun! Without any friends in the caravan park to play with the kids seemed restless and irritable. After breakfast we hit the books but it was a complete waste of time as no one had the ability to think for themselves today and they all wanted to be hand fed every answer. We stuck at it until lunchtime and then despite the rain headed off for a walk. We drove back into Paynesville and caught the passenger ferry across to Raymond Island. Luckily the rain had stopped. This time we walked the other side of the boardwalk and ended up walking along a very still and secluded part of Lake King. We walked for a couple of hours and spotted 8 koalas but most of them were quite high up or curled into balls asleep. We got the ferry back to the car and only then did it start to rain again. On the way home we called into Coles and stocked up for the next couple of weeks and then went back to the van for a couple of hours. We went into Metung and had dinner at the local pub as the food came highly recommended by the park owners, especially the fish that is all caught locally. The choice on the menu was enormous but all our picks were sensational and the kids were beautifully behaved (thank god for ipods!!). Back at the van it was straight to bed for everyone and they all passed out within 5 minutes. Nick and I caught up on series 2 of The Bridge and then fell asleep to the sound of the rain. The caravan and annex are beginning to smell a little musty and everything feels a bit damp but there is a lot more rain on the way!!!!
