Chris and Jordie arrived this afternoon, yay!! We drove from the airport straight to their accommodation at The Frangipani in Cable Beach and got them settled in. Just before sunset we headed for the beach with our Zuki and a hired Jeep Wrangler for Chris and Jordie. Cable Beach has 4wd access and after a short drive across some rocks its all kilometres of beach ahead. Chris hadn't driven on the beach before so it was a good experience driving the Jeep. The beaches here in Broome can be quite treacherous. In Queensland the sand close to the water is usually good hard packed sand, however with the beaches here the tide comes in under the sand first, so the sand is deep and sloppy like quicksand and has claimed many four wheel drive vehicles! After giving Chris some advice with driving a 4wd on the beach, we went for a blast down Cable Beach in the Jeep Wrangler. As we were driving down we came across some sun bathers without their bathers?! Apparently the 4wd beach is also the nudist beach!! Aaaarh! There were certainly no super models here so a quick turn around and we headed back towards the rocks to watch another spectacular Cable Beach sunset! Chris thoroughly enjoyed the Jeep and the beach driving. We drove back over the rocks and off the beach and up to Lord Macs burger place for one of the best steak burgers that I've ever tasted, all the burgers we bought were delicious! Lochie is so excited to see Chris and Jordie it's going to be hard to get him to sleep tonight!
