We still had the caravan hitched up to the Zuki overnight at Lake Grace, so we had a quick and easy pack-up this morning and drove about 115km northeast to Wave Rock. On the way out there we stopped off in Hyden, a town only a few kilometres from Wave Rock, where they have some quirky man-made statues of various animated characters and machinery along the roadway. While Lochie and I were looking at them, Kellie spotted a tricycle at an op-shop across the road for only $5.00, so we bought it for Lochie to practice his pedalling.
Wave Rock is an amazing natural phenomenon in the middle of nowhere! This rock formation looks exactly like a massive wave curling up for a surfer to ride before it crashes down over the top if them! The natural creation of this rock face is awesome and even though it was very hot and the flies nearly carried us away it was well worth the drive out there.
On our way out we stopped in at the Wave Rock Cafe. The service there was terrible! Unfortunately there was one young girl working with two very lazy older women, the young girl was trying to do everything while the older women had an obviously more important chat with each other, disgraceful!
As we drove towards York we came to another quirky little town called Corrigan, known for the most Utes with dogs in a Que. About 1527!! They even have a designated Dog Cemetery just out of town!
After a play for Lochie in the local park and a stretch for Kellie and I we continued on to York.
