So this is blog entry 14 due to some administrative errors and wanting to avoid unlucky day 13. It's me in front of one of the many entrances to the amazing cathedral in Burgos. It was a long hard walk today with about half in countryside and small villages and then a tough 13 kms through the outskirts of the city. We were trying for the scenic route which meant a one hour walk around the fence of Burgos airport and then we missed the shady riverside walk to the centre. However we are in a 4 star hotel tonight and have a huge bath and nice toiletries ~ not to sound to shallow for a pilgrim but I haven't seen a nice bubble bath in quite a while. Both of us have a few aches and pain but have discovered the miracle cure of Rioja taken internally. All of a sudden everything feels better.
It's easy to spot the pellogrinos. - pilgrims - in the city as they are the ones limping around in crocs and fit flops. Great meal tonight in a tapas place recommended by laurie and sally. . Our hotel is not full of local atmos. So a much needed day off tomorrow and I'm looking for a massage for some sore Achilles' tendons. Today's tracks are love shack by b52s and I don't feel like dancing by scissor sisters.
