So today's pic shows we are still walking together. I had intended to take a photo of the heather which I have never seen grow to six feet tall, but the young Swiss guy came along and assumed we wanted a picture together - behind us is the very interesting heather. Our last 12 kn. today was through a forest which had beautiful plants . It was Spanish oak and juniper and the first bluebells I have seen with wild cistus garlic, ferns and other wonderful stuff. However it was more than six hours walking today and Roger has a slight muscle strain in his leg which I hope won't give him too much trouble. It's difficult to know when to press on and when to get some rest. We are now in what Laurie and SAlly described as a one horse town but ha we saw three horses and a donkey as we came in so what do they know? Again it's dominated by a huge church and renovation work is going on. So the church does remain a force here. We had a very jolly meal in the only place to eat in town and R says it's the best meal he has had - an empanadas and two huge slices of what looked like black pudding. But lots of talk at our communal table, some serious but most of it quite easy and kind. We did have a member of the Green Party who is vegan on our table but I notice he ate nearly everything but the meat tonight. It can't be easy as even the beans here are cooked with chorizo and ham.
So disco tracks tonight are Justin TImberlake what goes around comes around and Stevie wonder alright, uptight. Martin do you realise I might start repeating myself pretty soon. Burgos tomorrow and a couple of hours walk through very dreary industrial areas.......maybe I can persuade r his leg is bad and he needs to get on the bus.

Mary Is this the first upright picture? I can uncrick my neck now. You are both looking slim and fit - hope R's leg holds out. Manflu and a gammy leg may hamper his walking. Keep those disco tracks coming. X
