We have decided on an overnight crossing back to our base Fehmarn. The reason, tonight's wind is F4 on the beam/ quarter all night. If we don't take this there is nothing ideal for a good few days. We had a lovely day in the harbour in bright sunshine, we left about 15.00 as the harbour master was wanting our place for yachts for that evening. The wind was perfect giving us a great sail, the moon was a full one giving us good light, we had to go round a shipping lane and cross 2 ferry routes. The AIS was a great help, sometime after midnight we went to motor sailing as our batteries were getting low. We covered the 75 NM a bit to quickly as we arrived in the dark, we could not work out the lights for coming in so decided to anchor off the beach till first light. So this years sail is now over just got to put the yacht to bed for the winter and try to find a ferry back to the uk
