Zingst is only 7 NM from Barth across the lake but there was a lovely anchorage so after only 3 NM we anchored again, my idea was to have an easy day but I was feeling a lot better, so I set about cleaning the decks, followed by polishing them. Brenda, after a while joined in the cleanup. In Zingst we went into yet another box mooring in a small sailing club, we were told we could stay for 2 nights before the berth holder returned. Zingst is a holiday destination for Germans that we had never heard of. It consists of the Harbour on the south side in the lake, a strip of land less than a mile wide to the open sea on the north where there are approximately 20 miles of fine sandy beaches. To link it all together there is an expansive cycle network of paths, theses are all paved and almost perfectly flat. We had an explore the fist day and decidedly have a big day out on the bikes the next. We cycled 30 kilometres in all, to a beach right at the far end and back. I don’t think I’ve seen so many bicycles since Copenhagen. By the time we returned, tired, we just went into a restaurant were we enjoyed a meal before bed.
