Since Lübeck we have sailed back to our base on Fehmarn to pick up our passports that we left in the van. We had a good evening with the other expats as quite a few we’re leaving today. The strong east winds that have blighted us this year are taking a 3 day rest so we are going to get some Easting in a hopefully get to the Rugan Islands. Our proposed trip was to be right along the coast of Poland to Gdansk, this is looking less likely by the day due to the strong East winds, we should not complain as with this wind comes the lovely settled sunny weather we are having. Kühlungsborn appears to be a tourist town that has sprung up since the fall of the iron curtain, in the 1980s it was a look out station, watching for people trying to flee the country, now its a Brighton or Bournemouth. There is a very nice narrow gauge steam train that has been running since the late 1800s, a trip for another day I’m afraid as this wind won’t wait for us, we have round the well known headland Darsser Ort
