We arrived here last Monday and have been very busy cleaning and getting the boat ready for the season. Our main sail had been repaired and was waiting for us but on the downside our leisure batteries were completely fried, they were five years old and I had brought new ones out with us so we are all up and running. Brenda invited 4 other English couples on board for drinks and nibbles tonight. There were 10 of us squeezed into out cockpit, it was warm and sunny and we had a lovely evening. We are off in the morning about 06.00 the forecast is for light winds for the next week so I think we will be under engine a lot this year. We have got the boat ready in 6 days our fastest yet. Our plans this year are much tighter than last year as we are picking up Trevor and Lesley in Kalmar on the 2 nd then sailing with them for 2 weeks, then Dennis and Gill will be taking over as crew for the Gota Canal transit about 3 weeks. We will have a few days on our own before John and Marianne join us to sail in Lake Vänern. It is the largest lake in Sweden 80 X 40 miles about the size of Devon, after about a week we will be on our own again but we have a dinner date in Hal's Denmark with Merete and Keith at the beginning of August so we are going to have to keep a careful eye on our times and weather forecasts. It's going to be a full year.
