Well I dont care who disagrees with me.. I think spring has hit Aberdeen. I know what you're wondering... WHY do you think its spring in Aberdeen when its still gray and drizzly outside?! Well because of the crocus'. I've been noticing them coming out and I've been excited for them!! While walking to tesco today I saw a little field behind Kings College that was full of snow drops and crocus' and it just screamed spring to me :) that and we've had more sun in the last week or so than I think even washington state gets in an entire year. so in preparation of spring in Aberdeen, I've dyed my lab coat lavender, I've bought a skirt and a spring top. OH not to mention a new tie in lavender with polka dots :) I'm rather excited about spring coming and this also means new changes.. new life.. new chances.. Spring break starts in only two weeks with the exception of the four days that I'm in Deeside and then two weeks off.. I can't believe how fast school is flying by. And with the weather being so much better, its almost time to take walks in the park and explore new places again. I miss that... and too, its almost time to start my project.. though I don't have my project title yet.. I am working on one and by mid may I will be starting my 12 weeks that sounds like a long time but I know it is far from it.. it will go by so fast and I'm already trying to work out basically living in cruickshank when it comes time to be using equipment and what not. busy work excites the s*** out of me! HAHAH

Getting rejected for this PhD made my head snap.. not just in a oh s*** panic mode but also that its alright and I will find something. and if not my visa doesn't expire until january 31st 2011 so I could get a job or apply for a new visa.. unfortunately visa's are expensive BUT it could be dealt with if I got a job here.. Talking to my friends has made me realise that I don't have just friends here.. I have a family.. Laura, Dafni, Susiesaurus, Olu, Aoife, Alex, HonMan, Rachel, Tom, Cam, Matthew, Antoni, Stuart, Zac, Graeme, Hedda and everyone I may have left out are my family here. I know that may sound stupid but its true. We all see eachother on a mostly daily basis and especially some more than others we really care about how the other is.. Susie and Laura really made me realise this on friday when I broke down in the computer lab.. and Laura made the statement that they dont want me to leave them. I love my family back home but my family here is amazing too.. At first I kinda didn't think about it that way but now that I've thought about it, we laugh and have fun, we argue, we offer support and someone to rant with, we learn from each-other and we of course drink together. so enough of the sentimental..

Tomorrow I have a mission in the lab.. to get work done.. I need to get my GC readings done and work on my paper for crit reviews. sometime this week I need to do a particle analysis done too.. or maybe I can do that while I'm in spring break.. that way I can devote the full 4 hours for it.. OH lab work! it makes me chemgasm! woohoo!!! :)

Anyhow... need to get myself ready for bed.. time to settle and dream about my pastasaurus noodle strainer.. I am totally going to use that this week!!! oh and maybe tomorrow night pancakes for dinner.. yummmmm
